SHARP Plus, the Safety and Health Agenda for Roofing Professionals, provides MRCA members with roofing-specific safety training materials and resources to support company safety programs and help companies meet minimum Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.

What Is the MRCA SHARP Plus Program?

SHARP Plus stands for Safety and Health Agenda for Roofing Professionals. The program provides safety materials specifically for roofing professionals, including formal training resources, job-site toolbox talks, safety program evaluation opportunities and roofing-specific safety certification. MRCA members receive SHARP Plus resources at no additional charge.

What Safety Resources Are Included in SHARP Plus?

SHARP Plus provides several types of safety education and training materials that roofing companies can incorporate into their company and job-site safety programs.

SHARP Monthly Safety Meetings

SHARP Monthly Meetings are designed for formal safety training at the office. Training materials cover a variety of topics including ladder safety, fall protection, hazard communication and other workplace safety issues.

SHARP Roofing Safety Toolbox Talks

SHARP Toolbox Talks are designed for weekly training on the job site. Topics include high-voltage accidents, emergency planning, traffic control and other job-site safety concerns.

Toolbox Talks include optional quizzes, and materials are distributed in both English and Spanish. MRCA strongly recommends documenting all safety training.

MRCA Safety Awards Program

Companies can submit their safety program for a rated and fully customized evaluation. The program is designed to help participating companies evaluate and continuously improve their safety processes while providing recognition and marketing tools related to their commitment to safety.

SHARP Plus Safety Certification

SHARP Plus Safety Certification is designed to advance company safety culture through roofing-specific safety training, educational sessions and participation in the MRCA Safety Award Program.
