Brock Hamre Awarded MRCA’s Naphis Mitchell-Reyes Excellent Safety Professional Award
Saint Paul, MN — The Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA) has awarded its prestigious Naphis Mitchell-Reyes Excellent Safety Professional Award to Brock Hamre, a safety leader from the Twin Cities Roofing Contractors Association (TCRCA). The award was presented by MRCA Safety Committee Chair Ryan Petrick of Ridgeworth Roofing at the MRCA Membership Meeting on October 22, held at the Saint Paul Convention Center in Minnesota.
The Naphis Mitchell-Reyes Excellent Safety Professional Award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to workplace safety, following in the footsteps of the late Naphis Mitchell-Reyes. This year’s award recognizes Hamre’s un-wavering commitment to protecting the safety and health of roofing professionals, with 12 impressive nominees vying for the honor.
A Legacy of Safety Leadership
Hamre, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota (1996) and a master’s degree in industrial safety (1998), has dedicated his career to advancing safety practices in the roofing industry. Certified as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), he serves as a safety and health resource professional for TCRCA, where he oversees comprehensive safety training programs, jobsite inspections, and represents member companies in OSHA hearings. Hamre’s training portfolio includes OSHA 10 and 30 certification, fall protection, forklift safety, aerial lift operations, confined space entry, CPR/First Aid, and the MRCA HAWT training.
In addition to his work with TCRCA, Hamre is a vital contributor to Local 96’s Apprenticeship program, providing three years of essential safety training to apprentices. His peers commend him as a trusted advocate who has “developed a unique relationship with our field workers, earning their trust and respect.” Known for his effective and collaborative approach, Hamre excels at building connections that foster commitment to safety among crew members.
